"Mario"

Sweet, befuddled, old, deaf and almost blind, Mario was such a sweetheart. His Mom and Dad, loved his favorite sleeping pose, so I painted it. Exactly 24 hours after I finished his portrait, Dear Mario died peacefully...in his favorite sleeping pose. The first thing they placed on the mantel in their new home was their adorable Mario. Both Mom and Dad cried when they first saw their painted memory.

Luke

Luke is tiny, funny and sweet but fills a huge spot in his Dad's heart...Luke is his favorite companion. Dad had a tear in his eye, when his birthday gift arrived. I loved Luke's pose and his coloring especially the recognizable messy brown beard. These dear animals tell me so much about their personalities as I paint them.

Thor

I never met Thor personally but when his Mom gave me his photos, I was shocked and delighted he looked nothing like his name! However, his Mom told me in no uncertain terms that he was small but mighty!!! Don't mess with Thor! Since I knew where he was going to be "living", I included some pops of deep burgundy to tie into the colors in his Mom's living room. She sighed and teared up when she realized she would now see him everyday.

Sadie

Such a sweet princess! As soon as I painted her eyes, her gentle personality just filled the canvas. After that, painting her silky hair was a breeze. I "muddled" the pattern in the chair she was lounging in, so as not to overwhelm my little star. Sadie now stands on the mantel in her home, just below that very chair. Her Mom cried when she received the painting.

Leah

I never met her, but from the photos I received I sensed this enormously strong bond between her and her Dad. Though a large breed, Leah is demure, with the most gentle eyes! Her Dad cried when he received her portrait.

Johnny

What can I say, he was a cat. Cat's have a mind of their own. So when I was sent this "upside down" photo...his family's favorite pose, I thought oh easy, I'll just paint the canvas upside down, but when I turned the painting right side up..."upside down"...It was like he was saying " I'm a cat, I'm not going to make it easy for you!" However, Johnny was sweet and affectionate and funny. The family still misses him. Mom cried when she saw him on canvas. He was home again.

Brix

Brix is elegant smart, and just plain beautiful. I never met him, but his photos told me I would have to capture his smart, sweet, regal personality. Tuck it right into his pose, his eyes, the color and silkiness of his coat...and yes in the striking patterns in the pillows in the background, like an exotic throne.

Mary Margaret

Much loved, gone missing, this sweet love of her Mom's life, this precious kitty just filled my heart the minute I saw her photo. I moved her quiet, peaceful personality onto the canvas in silence...it was so " still". Her coat was so hard to paint, soft and fluffy, but it was as if she was saying" you can do it!" And so I did. Her mom cried so hard when she received the painting of Miss Mary Margaret, she had to completely re apply her makeup.
